Ila Abernathy, Gayle & Candee Castaneda & Jeff

This is the time of year we all focus on our family and friends. From the time leading up to Thanksgiving Day and throughout the holiday season, it’s a time of reflection, kindness, compassion and joy! This month Fred and Jeff focus on these themes and talk with folks who are working toward the goal of bringing everyone to the table of happiness.

This week we talk with Dr. Charles Raison from the University of Arizona Department of Psychiatry, who is working on compassion and how dong simple things can improve one’s life and the lives of those around us.  His work on Cognitively-Based Compassion Training can be found at Compassion AZ!

We take a little road trip down to the wonderful Town of Bisbee and chat with some of the folks who make it a great place to live, work and play!

Renee Harper fills in for Jeff and does a great job ~ thinking of a host change ~ helping out with the Grand Ol’ Program.  She is the Ghost Host of the Old Bisbee Ghost Tour, as well as the Creative Executive Officer of Sweet Midnight and the Mistress of the Macabre for The Bisbee Mini Museum of the Bizarre.

We sit down with Kathy Snowden from Finders Keepers Antiques & Collectibles and talk about all the fun events coming up for Halloween, which is apparently a HUGE event for the town.

We also talk with Mayor Adriana Zavala-Badal and Sloan Boucherver about the Inaugural Bisbee Film Festival.  Sloan is the proprietor of the Bisbee Royal Micro-Cinema and a major sponsor of the big festival.

A major thank you to Cristina Plascencia from Destination Bisbee for coordinating our trip!!!
