The Historic Holiday Show

While Fred is off in the wilderness, Jeff welcomes Friend-of-the-Show and local historian Jim Turner to the big program.  Jim is also the author of Arizona: A Celebration of the Grand Canyon State.

As the holidays quickly approach and thoughts turn to family and friends, Jim talks about how this special time of year was celebrated in the Old Pueblo ~ back in the day!

And as we wind down Arizona’s Centennial Year, Jim will also toss in a couple of fun stories about the Grand Canyon State!

 

The December Downtown Show

Fred and Jeff welcome Caitlin Jensen and Brandi Haga (pronounced hey-ga) from the Downtown Tucson Partnership to the show.

The ladies of the Partnership talk about everything Downtown, including the 18th Annual Downtown Parade of Lights coming up on the 15th of December!!!

 

The Jewish History Museum Show

Fred and Jeff are joined by Eileen Warshaw, the Executive Director of Tucson’s Jewish History Museum!

They talk about the museum, the Jewish Community’s contributions to the Old Pueblo and all the fabulous things going on at one of our community’s fabulous gems!!!

 

The Diamond Show

Richelle Litter joins Fred and guest host Cindy Butierez on the Big Show this week!

Richelle is the Major Gifts Officer for the University Medical Center Foundation and she’ll be talking about the Diamond Children’s center, the Foundation and all the great activities and programs they have going on for these two great institutions in our community!!!

 

The Ghost Town Show

Fred and Jeff welcome Fr. Glenn Snow, O. Carm. From St. Cyril Parish.

Fr. Glenn has spent years collecting the history Ghost Towns in Cochise County and he’ll be sharing those stories with all of you guys.  Hear about life in the Arizona Boomtowns at the turn of the 19th century!!!

The November Downtown Show

Fred and Jeff welcome a cadre of Downtown Heroes to the grand ol’ program.

Caitlin Jensen from the Downtown Tucson Partnership talks about upcoming events, including 2nd Saturday ~ Elaine Mariolle gets us saddled up for the El Tour de Tucson ~ Randi Bellassai opens up about The Arizona Experience Store ~ and Nadia Hagen and Fonda Insley are all made up for The 23rd Annual All Souls Procession.

 

The Desert Bluegrass Show

Fred and Jeff welcome Manzanita Bluegrass to the big show.  They along with Mike Headrick from the Desert Bluegrass Association talk about the 13th Annual Desert Bluegrass Festival, sing songs and tell some great stories!!!

Also on the program are Michele Murphy and Doug McClure from the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, talking about the upcoming Run Like Hell 5K costume run, jog, walk supporting the great work of the Foundation.

 

The Book of the Sky God Show

Fred and Jeff welcome local author, journalist and fabulous Tucsonan Laura Markowitz to the big show.  Laura just released the extraordinary e-book, Book of the Sky God, and she talks about the story, characters and how the book was published!!!

 

The Puppets Amongus Show

Fred and Jeff welcome puppeteers Matt and Sarah Cotten from Puppets Amongus to the grand ol’ program!  The Cottens talk about all the puppet mischief they’ve gotten themselves into, including their new theater space, a giant trip to one of our beautiful Sister Cities ~ Almaty, Kazakhstan ~ and their first season of shows for children of all ages!!!
