New Year’s Eve Dive Bar Show

New Year’s Eve is right around the corner and your planning begins with The Fred and Jeff Show! Fred and Jeff broadcast from the top of the old Magic Carpet Tiki Head in front of The Hut on 4th Avenue as they talk about all the great dive bars in Tucson. Jim Nintzel from the Tucson Weekly and Doug Finical from The Hut are on top of the Tiki as well, providing their detailed experience with the dive bar scene.

While the conversation celebrates all the fun stuff about out local dive bars, Fred and Jeff support responsible drinking and encourage all of our listeners to enjoy this and all other holidays with a designated driver. Happy New Year!!!

 

The Fred is in Disneyland Show


Fred is on vacation with his boys at the Happiest Place on Earth, so Fred and Jeff’s Dad joins the program. They talk about just some of the stuff he does on a daily basis. From the Arizona Historical Society to his tenure at Tucson’s Parks and Recreation Director, JR is a very busy guy!

Hot Time at Fire Central

Fred and Jeff hang out at Tucson Fire Department’s Fire Central, talking with Assistant Chief Mike McKendrick about the history of Tucson’s Premiere fire department and the Tucson Fire Foundation.  Dr. Sheldon Marks also joins the program to educate folks on the importance of emergency preparedness in their homes.

Dr. Alexis Moreno, DVM from Valley Animal Hospital was in studio talking about her role as the Official Veterinarian of the Reid Park Zoo, how the animals are cared for and the new additions to the zoo family.  ~ Find out what special treat is used to get the elephants to take their medicine, the name of our zoo’s new lion and other interesting tidbits. ~

Sensational Settings & Casa de la Luz Honors our Veterans

Christie Spencer from St. Luke’s Home talks about their annual fund raiser, Sensational Settings at the Jewish Community Center.  Stacey Thureson explains Casa de la Luz’s new program to honor our nation’s veterans.  Veterans in the program get an individual ceremony performed by their brothers and sisters in arms prior to their death.
