The Elephant Trap Show

Fred and Jeff are joined by folks from two local groups this week!

First, Diana Whitman and Zak Winfield from the Reid Park Zoological Society stop in to talk about their organization and the Grand Opening of Expedition Tanzania, featuring Mabu, Lungile, Samba, Sundzu and Punga ~ the new family of elephants living at our zoo.

Next, Lenny Gulotta and Rob Larson from the Tucson Trap and Skeet Club talk about the club, its history, what trap and skeet are and the upcoming ISSF World Cup Series event coming up next week.

 

The Child Life Specialist Show

Some really special folks who take care of some really sick children join Fred and Jeff on the big show.  They talk about what they do and how the Child Life Council works to help children with serious and terminal illness.

 

The Festival of Books Show

Fred and Jeff talk with Bill Viner, one of the founders of The 4th Annual Tucson Festival of Books.  The Festival  brings together authors, publishers and the reading public in a family-friendly community event.  The net proceeds of the Festival are used to promote literacy in Southern Arizona.  Also joining the boys is Adam Rex, one of the featured authors!!!

 

The Major League Soccer Show

Greg Foster, one of the owners of FC Tucson,  joins Fred and Jeff on the Big Show!!!

FC Tucson is hosting the Desert Diamond Cup, which will culminate in some spectacular Major League Soccer matches on February 29th and March 3rd.

 

The Back in the Saddle Show

Bill Ganz, one of Tucson’s most recognized Western Singers,  joins Fred and Jeff on the Big Show!!!

The Bill Ganz Western Band has a new CD, they’re appearing with the Tucson Symphony Orchestra during their next Pops! Series ~ Back in the Saddle Again, More Music of the West and, oh yea, did I mention there will be music?!

 

The Golf Show

Fred and Jeff sit down with Dr. Bob Felix and Jim Ronstadt, a.k.a. “Dad,” and talk about the history of major golf tournament play in the Old Pueblo!  With the Accenture tournament coming soon, we go back to the roots of golf in the desert.

 

The Reid Park Zoo Super Bowl Show

Fred and Jeff talk with Susan Basford and Vivian VanPeenen from our very own Reid Park Zoo.

 They talked about the history of the zoo and all the things folks can expect in the future.  Find out what’s going on at our world class,  award winning zoo ~ from new exhibits to the new animals living in them ~ it’s a fantastic program!!!

 

The Valley of the Moon Electrified Show

Fred and Jeff talk with the magical stewards of kindness from the Valley of the Moon.

From 6:30PM till 8:30PM this coming Saturday, February 4th, watch as Electrice, the woman who laughs at 500,000 volts, stands atop a monster Tesla Coil ~ seemingly unprotected ~ while huge electrical discharges leap from her very fingertips!  She lights lamps by touch and sends scorching sparks skyward from the electrical chain of power!

Hold on to your seats this week ~ Angus McDoogal is let loose in the studio and adds his own voltage to the electric program!!!

 

The Gala Show

Fred and Jeff talk with two phenomenal local organizations about their upcoming parties.

The Mini Time-Machine Museum of Miniatures will be holding their 1st Annual Vegrandus Gala.  Nina Dalrup and Gentry Spronken talk about the history of the museum, some of its many treasures and the big party being held this Friday.  Find out about the museum and the remarkable exhibits they have to share!

If you love Mardi Gras I mean if you really love Mardi Gras, then the Community Food Bank of Southern Arizona has got a treat for you ~ celebrate Mardi Gras in style and help out one of our great community organizations ~ the big (easy) party is this Saturday!  Pauline Hechler and Stephanie Porter are in studio, talking with Fred and Jeff.

 

The Goats Show

Fred and Jeff talk with Shelli Hall from the Tucson Film Office about movie making in Tucson and Southern Arizona, including a locally produced film heading to Sundance called “Goats.”
