Fred and Jeff hang out in the lobby of the historic Hotel Congress, talking with the always beautiful Caitlin Jensen from the Downtown Tucson Partnership.  They’ll find out about some great New Year’s Eve events from those who are making them happen.

Happy Tuesdays at The Loft Cinema will feature a special edition of Lonely Hearts Club, leading up to a showing of Monty Python and the Holy Grail,

The Rialto Theatre will feature Mexican Wrestling and live Latin American music, and

Hotel Congress will bring in the new year with more fun and entertainment than you would really know what to do with!!!

 

The Walk Through Winterhaven Show

Fred and Jeff shift gears a little bit this week and literally take the show on the road as they walk through the Winterhaven Festival of Lights!  Join the Brothers Ronstadt as they talk with holiday revelers, wishers and some of our great neighbors!!!

First, Jill Baumann and Stephanie Petersen from Desert Sky Community School talk about their Fourth Annual Weihnachtsmarkt on December 8th ~ a fun-filled day of locally produced gifts, entertainment, food, dance, music and crafts for the whole family.

Next, Joey Rodgers and Soleste Lupu from Dancing in the Streets Arizona talk about their highly successful program and the upcoming production of The Nutcracker Ballet being performed at the Historic Fox Theatre!

The Children’s Art Show

Fred and Jeff welcome Michael Luria and Dr. Joan Ashcraft to the Grand Ol’ Program this week.

Michael will be telling us all about the new exhibits and activities at the Children’s Museum Tucson followed by Joan who will tell us about all the fun going on with Arts Express and their upcoming holiday event, Follow the Star.

The ladies of Tucson Roller Derby kick off the show talking about the big State Conference Championship taking place next weekend.  Pyro Blaze and K’Mean Streak will give us the low down on roller derby and all the details regarding the big bout, where we hope the Tucson girls take out the godless heathens from Phoenix.

Sister Joan Ridley also joins the Brothers Ronstadt to talk about the Benedictine Monastery and all the activities of the Benedictine Sisters of Perpetual Adoration, including their sinfully delicious popcorn and fudge.  Fred recommends the Platinum Cheddar Popcorn!

Fred and Jeff welcome Michael Olivares, founder of Tucson’ s Comic Convention, AKA The Tucson Comic-Con.  He talks about the history of this colorful event as well as some of the super guests scheduled for this annual event.

The Mistress of Downtown, Kaitlin Jensen, Also brings folks form the Veteran’s Parade and the fabulous El Tour de Tucson.

Felix Salaz and Adriana talk about the big parade and Richard DeBernardis provide all the scoop on the annual perimiter bicycle event, which draws participants from all over the world!
