The Tucson Museum of Art Show

Fred and Jeff welcome Robert E. Knight and Julie Sasse from the Tucson Museum of Art.  There’s a lot of stuff going on at one of our community’s premier art centers and they get to most of it.

However, Angus McDoogal from Valley of the Moon was in studio creating all sorts of havoc.  The Monty Tale of King Arthur Python Adventure will have its final performances on Saturday, October 6th.  Hear all the details about this fabulous bit of family friendly fun!!!

 

The Born to Wear Blue Show

Fred and Jeff welcome Patty Valance and Bryn Bailer from the Greater Tucson Fire Foundation to the big show!

They talk about the Foundation along with a new book they’ve created called Born to Wear Blue, which celebrates the men and women who dedicate their lives to save ours.  The book is launching on September 30th with a HUGE event at the Tucson Jewish Community Center on September 30th.

 

The Underground Film Show

Fred and Jeff welcome David Pike and Wendy Van Leuveren to the show.  They are presenting the 5th Annual Arizona Underground Film Festival.  Find out about the schedule of movies being presented, the history and fun stories from the festival and get to know what an underground film really is!

Also joining the Brothers Ronstadt is Merry Starr from the Sonoran Arthropod Studies Institute (SASI), promoting the next SASI Community Day ~ Bees and Big Caterpillars!

 

The Tucson Originals Show

Fred and Jeff welcome Chefs Jonathan Landeen from Jonathan’s Cork and Rocco DiGrazia from Rocco’s Little Chicago.  They are members of the Tucson Originals, local, independently operated restaurants providing the soul and distinctive flavours of food that help define Tucson.

Fred and Jeff welcome Jim Turner to the show this week.  Jim is a local historian and author of Arizona ~ A Celebration of the Grand Canyon State.  They’ll be talking Arizona history and the REAL story of Hugo O’Connor and the founding of the Tucson Presidio!!!

 

The Blend of Science and the Heart Show

Fred and Jeff welcome Pélagie (Pagie) Beeson, Ph.D. to the show this week.  Pagie is the Head of the Department of Speech, Language and Hearing Sciences at the University of Arizona.  They talk about the various programs and research going on in the department, as well as Pagie’s own work with the Aphasia Research Project!

Also joining the big show is writer, speaker, comedian, juggler, and Bill of Rights advocate Chris Bliss.  He talks about his newest venture: MyBillofRights.org, the Bill of Rights Monument Project, a 501(c)3 nonprofit dedicated to rebuilding America’s sense of common ground by placing monuments of the Bill of Rights in civic spaces across the country ~ beginning with the Great State of Arizona as one of the many Centennial projects!  Chris will be performing at Laffs Comedy Cafe on August 16 (free show), 17 and 18!!!

The Arthropod Show

Fred and Jeff welcome Emily Francis, John Rhodes and Merry Starr from the Sonoran Arthropod Studies Institute, a membership supported organization fostering an awareness, knowledge and appreciation of all nature through the study and interpretation of the vital roles arthropods play in the Sonoran Desert ecosystem.  She’ll be talking about the cool bugs of the Sonoran Desert, their organization and the upcoming conference being held in the Old Pueblo!!!
