The Tucson Village Farm Show

Elizabeth Sparks from the Tucson Village Farm (TVF) joins the Brothers Ronstadt this week.  TVF is a working urban farm built by and for the youth of our community.  A program of the Pima County Cooperative Extension and the University of Arizona, TVF is a seed-to-table program designed to reconnect young people to a healthy food system, teach them how to grow and prepare fresh food, and empower them to make healthy life choices.

The Mirror Lab Show

Fred and Jeff get a tour of the Richard F. The Audubon Show

The fun and vivacious kids from the Tucson Audubon Society join Fred and Jeff for the Grand Ol’ Program this week!

The show is broadcast from the Tucson Bird & Wildlife Festival and the boys chat with Bete Jones, Outreach Manager, whom organized the event, Karen Fogas, the Executive Director and Keith Ashley, Coordinator of the Paton Center for Hummingbirds and Interim Resource Development Director.

The Patronato Show

Fred and Jeff spend the hour with Miles Green, the Executive Director of the Patronato San Xavier, which is a nonsectarian, nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization founded by Southern Arizona community leaders in 1978.  The Patronato’s only purpose is to promote the restoration, maintenance and preservation of Mission San Xavier del Bac, a National Historic Landmark near Tucson, Arizona.

Fred and Jeff are in studio this week with all sorts of fun and games!

Hilary Van Alsburg, Board Member of the Educational Enrichment Foundation (EEF), talks about how Jeff will be CRUSHED at the 4th Annual EEF Celebrity Spelling Bee.  Jeff is looking forward to the cocktails in the losers’ lounge!

Also on the big show, Paul Bucky and Debra Schildhouse bring a little healing to the program with their Bio-Touch program, which they offer for free (donations always accepted) for anyone suffering from all sorts of pain and other health issues.

 

The Rocket Man Show

George Jenson, from Jenson Consulting and Forthright Vending, joins Fred to talk rockets.  Stepen Lubliner, NARAM 57 Contest Director, talks about the model rocket craze in the Old Pueblo and the NARAM 57 event going on this week!  The event id hosted by the Southern Arizona Rocketry Association, which holds launches once a month in Tucson.

This week Fred and Jeff stop by the Temple of Music and Art, one of many historic icons in the heart of our community, to talk with Stephen Wrentmore, Arizona Theatre Company’s Director of Learning, and some of the very talented performers from this year’s Summer on Stage program.  Madison Miller from Marana High School, Malik Martin from Rincon High School, Daniel Rosenberg from Gregory School and Anastasia Wrenn, whom just graduated University High School, talk about their experience in the program.

This year the can’t miss season includes works from William Shakespeare, Mark Twain and Charles Dickens!
